Communications Leadership Development Program (CLDP)
The Lockheed Martin Communications Leadership Development Program (CLDP) strives to attract, develop and retain high-potential entry-level and early career communications professionals capable of assuming positions of leadership.
The CLDP rotates participants through two one-year assignments at different Lockheed Martin business units. The rotations concentrate on media relations, employee communications, marketing communications and community relations, and provide participants an opportunity to learn and share their contemporary knowledge in each assignment. Upon completion of the program, with a record of demonstrated performance, CLDP graduates will be placed in an appropriate position within the Corporation.
Additionally, CLDP participants experience professional enrichment opportunities through participation in the corporation's Leadership Development, Corporate Communications and Business Area Communications conferences. Participants also receive special career development assistance, such as mentoring and the preparation of detailed career plans.
CLDP participants are selected based on qualities including:
Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Academic excellence
Energy, enthusiasm and competitive edge
Evident commitment to the profession, demonstrated through internships and other relevant work experience
Level of comfort with change, adaptable and flexible
Strong writing and interpersonal skills
Natural curiosity and a desire to absorb and process knowledge
Desire to make a difference, demonstrated through relevant extracurricular activities
