Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP)
Our FLDP is designed to prepare high performance candidates for potential future leadership positions within our financial discipline. Participants will grow through a 3-year curriculum that combines various methods of learning, training and career development methodologies.
Experiential learning.
This part of the FLDP is comprised of job rotations designed with the goal of providing participants with a broad range of experiences. Typical assignments include: financial services, estimating and cost control, program finance, contracts, auditing and financial planning and analysis. After each assignment, participants are provided with a formal appraisal of performance to assist with career planning and development.
Technical training and formal education.
This includes an in-house course and a case study. The objective is to help transition textbook learning to real-life business problem solving. Participants will also enroll in graduate-level courses and complete an MBA or NCMA certifications within five years of starting the FLDP.
Leadership training.
Participants attend 2 off-site Leadership Development Conferences (LDCs) and 1 off-site Finance Business Seminar. The Leadership Development Conferences take place during the 1st and 3rd years of the LDP experience. These conferences are designed to provide participants with a solid background in teamwork and communication skills, problem solving and our corporate values and goals. The conferences also offer the opportunity to network with participants from our other businesses and across all our other LDPs. In addition to the conferences, participants attend a Finance Business Seminar during the 2nd year of the FLDP. This seminar enables participants to directly interface with our corporate finance executives; provide continued focus on leadership training and deliver the opportunity to develop a network of contacts within our finance area.
Who can participate in our FLDP?
Most participants have a degree in accounting, finance, business administration or economics. We also accept other majors. We are looking for excellent academic credentials, demonstrated performance, work ethic and leadership skills and solid analytical capabilities.
