Information Systems Leadership Development Program (ISLDP)

Effective and future-directed information systems are key to our success. They enable our business and our people. In our ISLDP, participants grow through a dynamic employee development program that is designed to recruit, equip and retain high potential IS professionals. Those who successfully complete the program with demonstrated work ethic and sustained high level of performance will contribute to our current and future success.

Rotational assignments, advanced education and more.
The ISLDP consists of a 2-year program in which the participants complete 3 to 4 job rotations. The goal is exposure to a wide range of our information systems capabilities, technologies and growth plans.

Because the march of new technology never stands still, ISLDPs must also participate - through a distance learning arrangement - in an innovative Master's degree program offered by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). If a participant already holds a Master's degree, he/she will have the opportunity to benefit from a certificate program at RPI.

The 2 Leadership Development Conferences (LDCs) offered to the ISLDPs are designed to help them develop networks with peers from other functional areas and other Lockheed Martin businesses, as well as with our IS leadership. Participants will engage in modules designed to enhance leadership knowledge and skills and attend a workshop with the goal of further development of daily interactive skills. At the end, a Capstone Project ties everything together.

Who can participate in the ISLDP?
Those selected for the program hold a degree in computer science, information systems or engineering. Some participants choose to blend their strong interest in technology with business knowledge and have degrees in management information systems or information technology. In addition to superior academic achievement, selected participants must have demonstrated leadership skills, solid analytical skills and related work experience.
