OUR COMMITMENT TO VOLUNTEERISM AND PHILANTHROPY:
HELPING MAKE A BETTER WORLD.
We believe that making the world a better place starts with each one of us. It means giving of ourselves: our time...our talents...our heads, hands and hearts.
Volunteerism and community outreach have long been corporate cornerstones at Lockheed Martin. In our business capacity, we provide products and services that address some of the nation's most-critical needs. But our contribution doesn't end there. We also work to lift up those in need, to invest in those who aspire, and to enhance the quality of life in communities where we live and work.
Lockheed Martin employees have logged nearly 6.5 million volunteer hours since 2002.
Many of our locations offer flexible work schedules, which allow our employees to more easily participate in giving opportunities.
Our philosophy.
Our encouragement of volunteering and community outreach is pervasive and systemic. In fact, we maintain an internal Web site that is specially dedicated to volunteering. It supports volunteer efforts across the corporation and enables employees to locate volunteering opportunities in their communities.
We also recognize employees with President Obama's President's Volunteer Service Awards and with company certificates of appreciation. Some Lockheed Martin locations have established their own volunteer organizations or councils.
Philanthropic giving.
Our comprehensive philanthropic program focuses on education, community involvement and supporting the needs of our military and their families. We contribute to national initiatives and organizations, and to efforts that improve the quality of life in local communities.
